Route 47 Resurfacing Project (Missouri River Bridge to south Route 100)

What Improvements Will MoDOT Accomplish?

  • MoODT will resurface the pavement on Route 47 from the Missouri River Bridge in Franklin County to south of Route 100. Also, the sidewalks in this area will be made compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • MoDOT will also perform pavement repairs and resurface portions of the pavement on Route 100 from Route KK to Washington Heights Drive (east of Route 47).
NOTE: Some portions of Route 100 from High Street to Route 47 will not receive full resurfacing work because they are scheduled to be improved with the upcoming Route 100 widening cost-share project in 2013.

What are the benefits?

  • After the project is completed, motorists will notice a smoother driving surface during their commute.
  • Right turn movements at the Route 47 and Route 100 intersection will be modified to reduce right angle crashes. When completed, motorists waiting to turn right will be oriented more perpendicular to the sidestreet for improved visibility of oncoming traffic.

How Will Traffic Be Impacted During Construction?
The project will begin in March 2012 and is expected to be completed by November 2012. Various lane closures will be necessary as crews remove rutted section of the intersections and replace the pavement.

Estimated Project Cost

This project was awarded to Magruder Paving, LLC for approximately $2.5 million.
