Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program will repair or replace146 bridges through 2012 in the eight county area. To date, MoDOT has completed  55 bridges and plans to complete another 73 in 2011. It will finish the program in 2012 with the last 18 bridges in the district

By 2013, Safe & Sound will improve 800 of the worst bridges across the state through an innovative partnership with KTU Constructors.  When you see a Safe & Sound sign on a bridge or marked on a map, anticipate that it will close during construction.
