What is the schedule?
The current schedule is to begin construction in the spring of 2013. Construction requires two seasons, with the improvements and roadway completed by the end of 2014. This schedule is dependent on several factors, including right of way acquisition. Additional right of way is required to complete the improvements along this section of Route 92.
Once construction begins, motorists in the area should expect delays. MoDOT will maintain at least one lane of traffic in each direction between I-35 and Sam Barr Road. Route 92 will need to close for a short time as crews make intersection and roadway improvements between Sam Barr Road and Nation Road. A signed detour will be in place during any closure. Access for local traffic will be provided to Sam Barr Road during the closure.
How is this project funded?
This is a $5.4 million project. MoDOT and the City of Kearney will fund the project using state and federal funds.
