Deferred Compensation is Changing!!
It is important that all employees who contribute to the deferred compensation plan review all materials about this change!
MoDOT is moving from the current program to a series of 12 Target Date Funds, the ING Stable Income Fund (currently offered), or a Self-Directed Brokerage Account (currently offered).
The transition to the new plan design is automatic -- unless you decide otherwise -- and will be final on April 9, 2009. You have three options:
1. Do nothing.
Your plan will roll into the most appropriate option based on your anticipated retirement age.
2. Opt for a Self-Directed Brokerage Account
You must request the self-directed option for your compensation plan. To do so, complete the self-directed brockerage account application found on the Forms page of the Web site.
3. Maintain funds in the Stable Income Fund.
If you do not want to have your funds
moved into a retirement-appropriate account, you must transfer your money to the ING Stable Income Fund or establish a Self-Directed Brokerage account before April 9 at 3:00 p.m.
Central Time.
Mark your calendar.
To implement the new plan investment design there is a “blackout period” beginning Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 3:00 p.m.
and ending on Monday, April 13, 2009 at 8:00 a.m. Central Time. During the blackout period, you will not be able to make changes to
your account, or make transactions of any kind, including transferring
money among funds or requesting withdrawals.
Information meetings are available. At the Colbern road office:
